Stubenberg is located in the middle of the beautiful "Apfelland" (apple country) and has a lot to offer due to its location. Lake Stubenberg, with its 40 hectares, is Austria's largest man-made lake. The illuminated 3 km circular hiking route around the lake invites you to go for a walk, skate or cycle. Or you can be a bit more sporty with a borrowed Segway or e-bike (which are available at the "Freizeitpark Stubenberg See") along the Feistritztal Cycle Path and enjoying the beauty of the Stubenberg gorge.
Around the lake, there are various cafes and restaurants where you'll find everything from ice cream, to salad, to various Styrian delicacies. A round trip with a pedal boat, kayak, a surf lesson or a lap with a stand-up paddle - all of that is possible at the Stubenberg Lake.
Tierwelt Herberstein (Zoo Herberstein) is divided into various sectors on an area of approximately 23 hectares, which correspond to the continents "Africa", "Eurasia", "America" and "Australia". A visit to the animal kingdom of Herberstein, among other things, offers commented-on feeding times, a petting zoo and 6km of walkways around exhibitions which easily fills a leisurely afternoon.
Opening times:
March 21ˢᵗ- November 3ʳᵈ, 2019

For the brave ones, there is the possibility to go even higher than anything else -- you can plan a ride in a hot air balloon!
